Carreg Cennen Castle
Longhorn Beef Freezer Boxes.
FOR SALE
We keep a pedigree herd of Longhorn Cattle at Carreg Cennen Castle, many of which we exhibit throughout England, Scotland and Wales and keep or sell as breeding stock. However there is the occasional one which is better suited to the Dining table.
We sell the Beef in boxes which contain a selection of different Joints, Steaks and Mince etc. We try whenever possible to allocate if required specific joint types or a variation on the normal proportions of mince to stewing steak etc but generally a mixed box is sold.
Boxes vary between11 and 15 kilos in weight @ £8.50 a kilo.
Our Beef has been allowed to mature naturally—it’s tenderness and
flavour are gained through hanging for a minimum of three weeks after slaughter.
Much supermarket beef is sold after being hung for only four days.
Longhorns are a native British Breed and have had no continental influence producing meat with taste, character and marbling.
If you are interested in having a box to try for yourself then give us a call and we can add your details to our waiting list. We kill on average 5 animals a year, when each one is ready for collection we will give you a call, if you've got room in your freezer or got a dinner party coming up then great, if not then we'll contact you the next time.
